2017 Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winners: Keauhou Wins Big with 9 Trophies

■ケアウホウ9冠、受賞ラッシュに注目集まる！

ハワイの音楽を世界に発信するため、2011年よりはじまった「Mele Mei(メレ・メイ＝5月、ハワイアン・ミュージックの月という意味)」。ハワイ州内各地で本物のハワイアン音楽やフラのイベントが多数行われますが、そのハイライトの、「ナ・ホク・ハノハノ賞授賞式(以下ナ･ホク賞)」が、5月20日(土)、ハワイ・コンベンションセンターで華々しく開催されました。今年はナ・ホク・ハノハノ賞40周年という記念すべき年。様々なジャンルの豪華アーティストによる特別なコラボレーションステージも多数行われ、華麗で荘厳、感動たっぷりの素晴らしい授賞式となりました。

今年の話題は、なんといっても若手グループのKeauhou(ケアウホウ)が9つのカテゴリーを受賞したこと！ 名門カメハメハ校出身のジョナ・カハヌオラ・ソラタリオ、ニコラス・ケアリイ・ラム、ザッカリー・ラムの3人組で、現在はそれぞれハワイ大学大学院に通いながら音楽活動を続けています。
